The Bridgend Business Forum Awards 2017 have been launched, with the search firmly on to find the best businesses in Bridgend County Borough.
The prestigious awards celebrate brilliance in business and are the premier accolade for firms in Bridgend County Borough, providing an ideal platform for both small and large businesses to showcase and celebrate their many achievements and successes.
Businesses in Bridgend County Borough have the opportunity to enter the following eight categories:-
- Business student of the year – Rockwool
- Start-up business of the year – ISA Training
- Service business of the year – Berry Smith Lawyers
- Manufacturing business of the year - EEF, the manufacturer’s organisation
- Entrepreneur of the year - SME Finance Partners
- Bridgend ‘Tourism Business of the Year’ - Handelsbanken
- Creative industries award - ION Leadership
- Innovative business of the year - Harris Bassett
Sponsored by Bridgend College, the main award for ‘Bridgend Business of the Year’ will be chosen from the winner of each category. A panel of judges will shortlist the eight categories down to three potential winners, which will be announced at the Bridgend Business Forum Awards ceremony and gala dinner, being held at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch on Friday 29 September 2017.
The awards are widely regarded by guests as a ‘must attend’ business event, providing invaluable networking and promotional opportunities for sponsors, winners and shortlisted nominees.
Ian Jessopp, Chair of the Bridgend Business Forum, said: “Now in its fifth year, the ethos of the awards is to continue to showcase excellence in business on a local level.
“We strongly encourage organisations of any size and stature to enter these awards, especially if you are proud of your achievements, and those of your staff. Take this opportunity to showcase your business and celebrate your success. Business owners, managers and staff work hard to keep ahead of the competition and ultimately should be recognised and applauded for their hard efforts.
“Entering your business for an award can have a positive impact – over the past four years, businesses have attributed new customers and an increase in sales as a result of winning a BBF award.
“This year, we are especially delighted to welcome back Bridgend College as the main sponsor of the 2017 Bridgend Business Forum Awards.”
Simon Pirotte, Principal at Bridgend College, said: “Bridgend College is delighted and proud to come on board once again as the main sponsor of the 2017 Bridgend Business Forum Awards.
“The calibre of entries is always excellent and represents the best in business and people across the Bridgend County Borough - from all sectors, at all levels. The awards celebrate and reward their efforts and successes and Bridgend College is extremely proud to support them, particularly as we work in close collaboration with local businesses to provide the right courses, to the right learners, in the right place.”
“We look forward to every stage of the 2017 awards and working closely with Bridgend Business Forum and Bridgend County Borough Council to celebrate brilliance in business, locally.”
Mark Shephard, the council’s Corporate Director of Communities, said: “The Bridgend Business Forum Awards have earned their central place in the social calendar of local businesses. They provide a unique opportunity for local firms to show themselves and to be recognised for their excellence, and the council is very proud to support them.
“The level of response from our sponsors, who have come on board once again this year, serves as testimony that these awards clearly appeal to the wider business community. This year’s awards will provide all finalists with the platform to showcase their success.
“I encourage businesses to enter the awards, letting the rest of the commercial world and the public know about the quality of local businesses, who are not just making a significant mark within their sectors locally - many of them are doing so nationally and in some cases globally.
“Strong businesses are the basis of a strong economy – and it is only right that achievement and success is recognised. I would like to wish all entrants the very best of luck for the 2017 awards and look forward to meeting the shortlisted applicants at the awards ceremony.”
