FREE pension update business breakfast

The Bridgend Business Forum in conjunction with Future Asset Management LLP would like to invite you to a FREE Pension update business breakfast.

In order to enhance personal pension funding the government are drastically changing the laws and regulation around pension provision supplied by employers. 
 
This seminar will give employers a basic outline of these changes and your responsibilities as an employer. These include:

  • The Government’s aim
  • Your staging date
  • Employers responsibility
 
These changes are likely to have great implications on business planning so join us to find out more about the changes to staff pensions benefits and to understand the effect it will have on your business over the coming years.

Golf event will be hole-in-one for Bridgend businesses

A unique opportunity for businesses to show their key contacts to a special day has become available, as the Speedy Services Wales Senior Open Championship Pro-AM comes to the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club this June.
The tournament, which is being held ahead of the Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex taking place at the club in July 2014, gives businesses the opportunity to tackle the tournament course before the likes of Montgomorie, Watson and Langer chip-in at Wales’ first major.
Enjoy an 18-hole round of golf with a pro golfer who has played on the European or PGA tour as they recall their favourite anecdotes from historical rounds gone by and share tips to help you iron out the holes in your game.
A limited number of spaces for Pro-Am teams are available, offering aspiring golfers the only opportunity to play on the full tournament course at the recently-voted number 1 links course in Wales.

Businesses encouraged to go for gold!

The search to find the best of Bridgend business has got off to a great start with the launch of the Bridgend Business Forum Awards 2013. These brand new business awards are a first for the Bridgend area.
 
BBC TV presenter, Sian Lloyd officially launched the awards at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Bridgend. Over 70 businesses attended the launch to find out more about the awards and how to enter.
 
Open until 1 July 2013, the awards celebrate innovation, acknowledge best practice and dedication and recognise major achievements in business. All businesses in the Bridgend County Borough that can demonstrate innovative and sustainable business ideas are eligible to enter the awards.
 
Alison Hoy, Chair of the Bridgend Business Forum said: “I am thrilled that the Bridgend Business Forum is able to launch these new awards and celebrate the best of Bridgend business.
 
“We are very keen to showcase the amazing talent that is operating in the Bridgend area, saluting the companies, business leaders and teams who can demonstrate true determination, drive and innovation against these turbulent economic times not only on a local level but also on a global scale.
 
As one of the judging panel, Alison said: “We are looking for local businesses which not only meet the criteria for these awards but can also demonstrate that they have an extra something special or have gone the extra mile to achieve their goals.
 
“The race is now on and we want to see as many businesses as possible in the running. You have to be in it to win it, so please enter and get the recognition your business deserves.”
 
The Bridgend Business Forum Awards 2013 ceremony will take place on Friday 20 September 2013, at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch, Bridgend.
