A brand-new business bringing healthy lunches and smoothies to the heart of Bridgend County Borough has officially opened its doors.
GOODNESS, located on Wyndham Street, welcomed its first customers on Friday 21 March. The independent business is breathing new life into a previously disused commercial unit and offers nutritious food and drink options to people working, shopping or visiting the town centre.
Bridgend County Borough Council’s Economic Development & Enterprise team supported them by providing a Business Start-up Grant, helping them make new connections to finance their business growth and assisted them with accessing the Retail Rate Relief.
Kayleigh Hopkins, owner, said, “I’m really excited to start my business in Bridgend Town Centre. I’ve always wanted to create something that promotes a healthy lifestyle, and I hope that GOODNESS will offer a refreshing alternative for people on the go.”
“I’m extremely grateful to the Economic Development team at Bridgend County Borough Council for supporting me in the early stages of my journey, and I’m looking forward to trading in Bridgend for many years to come.”
The opening of GOODNESS marks another positive step forward for Bridgend town centre, with the unit now in productive use and attracting more footfall to the area.
Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing at Bridgend County Borough Council, said, “I’m delighted to see such an energetic start-up bringing fresh ideas and healthy options to Bridgend. It’s fantastic to see local entrepreneurs choosing to set up in our town centre, and I’d like to wish GOODNESS every success. I’d also like to thank our Economic Development team for the practical support they continue to offer new businesses throughout the county.”
The new addition to Wyndham Street forms part of a wider effort to revitalize Bridgend town centre and encourage enterprise by supporting local entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to life.
