One of Wales’ leading export firms coming to Bridgend

One of Wales’ leading export firms, Markes International, has signed a 15-year lease at Central Park on Bridgend Industrial Estate.

The company manufactures equipment that can detect traces of chemicals in the atmosphere for clients globally.

Markes International are relocating from Llantrisant to Bridgend, where the building is being renovated by its owner Wendon with £2 million backing from the Development Bank of Wales.

The company will employ 140 staff members at the new HQ and has a global workforce of 180.

Tim Hawkins, managing director of Markes International said: “Our business has grown significantly in recent years and we continue to be pioneers in the analysis of organic compounds in the air we breathe, the products we use and the produce we consume.

“We have long-term growth ambitions and this site not only enables flexibility to execute them, but provides a vastly improved working environment for our people.”
