Property Index updated for businesses seeking town centre premises

Thursday 1 July 2021

The Town Centre Property Index has been reviewed and updated allowing businesses to make informed decisions about town centre properties without the need for a site visit.

Prospective buyers looking for properties in Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg’s town centres will be able to refer to the Index to evaluate properties for their business as well as access contact details for agents and information about the properties. An image of each property is also provided.

The Town Centre Property Index (External link – Opens in a new tab or window) is updated regularly with new opportunities to move into town centre properties across Bridgend County Borough.

The updated Index comes just in time for Independents’ Day UK on July 4 2021, an event which sets out to support and promote independent retail businesses across the UK all year round. More information on the event, can be found on the Independents’ Day website (External link – Opens in a new tab or window).

Bridgend County Borough Council will be getting involved with the UK-wide celebration with a social media video showcasing small businesses across our three town centres Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg.

Councillor Charles Smith, Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration:

“The Town Centre Property Index is an important resource not only for businesses seeking new premises but also to the regeneration of our town centres.

“We encourage businesses and prospective buyers to make use of the Index to see what our town centres in Bridgend, Porthcawl and Maesteg have to offer.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to celebrate the diverse selection of independent businesses we have in the county borough and we thoroughly look forward to showcasing them to the rest of the country for Independents’ Day next month.”
