Final call for applications for Bridgend Council’s Business Development Grant

Funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the Business Development Grant scheme supports businesses in Bridgend County Borough to diversify, decarbonise and grow. We are making a final call to businesses to make an application under the scheme, as it is due to close in the next few months (or sooner if the funds are allocated).

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. For more information, visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-prospectus

The Business Development Grant will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and will provides 50% of eligible capital projects costs. The minimum grant is £5,000 and the maximum grant available is £25,000 (excluding VAT).

The fund is available to businesses in Bridgend County Borough who meet the following criteria:

  • A Sole traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies, Co-operatives and Limited Liability Partnerships, Registered Social Enterprise or Charity are eligible to apply.
  • Has an operating turnover in last 3 years above the VAT threshold (£90,000)
  • An established business that has been trading more than 3 years
  • Bridgend County Borough business address
  • An SME (less than 250 employees and an annual turnover under €50 million)
