Green Business Loan Scheme launches

The Development Bank of Wales have launched the Green Business Loan Scheme, which will help businesses become more environmentally conscious.

The Green Business Loan Scheme works to provide businesses across Wales with tailored support packages that help to address pressures that business face, as well as the competing priorities for resource and investment. Key barriers such as knowing where and how to invest, being time poor and having the necessary finance restricts businesses from taking positive action.

As part of the loan scheme, businesses will get:

• Access to fully and part-funded consultancy support that helps them understand their own path to decarbonisation
• Discounted fixed interest rates on green business loans for energy efficiency measures and low carbon heat installations
• Patient capital, with upfront capital repayment holidays and a loan term linked to project payback

In order to eligible, businesses must be based in Wales, must have been trading for at least two years and have one set of filed annual accounts and can be a limited company, sole trader or partnership.
